Yes of course: As I see it, Prolog is often awesome in types of applications that are distinct from those one would usually build in other kinds of languages. Alex Petros phrased it extremely nicely and insightfully in his comment at https://lobste.rs/s/0cvxwk/prolog_basics_explained_with_poke...: "I don't know if this will be a satisfying answer to your question, but since writing this blog post I find myself reaching for Prolog in cases that are entirely orthogonal to any kind of code I used to write before. There are definitely people in the Prolog…

Paper and discussion history. I worked for a healthcare startup working on patient enrollment for clinical oncology trials. The challenges are amazing. Quite frankly it wouldn't matter if the data were in plaintext. The diagnostic codes vary between providers, the semantic understanding of the diagnostic information has different meanings between providers, electronic health records are a mess, things are written entirely in natural language rather than some kind of data structure. Anyone who's worked in healthcare software can tell you way more horror stories. I do hope…

Paper and discussion history. This is not true. For example, quoting from page 2 of the paper that is linked to in a discussion I posted, An Executable Specification of Oncology Dose-Escalation Protocols with Prolog, available from https://arxiv.org/abs/2402.08334: "Standards are of great importance in the medical sector and play a significant role in procurement decisions, resolution of legal disputes, warranty questions, and the preparation of teaching material. It is to be expected that the use of an…

Paper and discussion history.
