It's really strange that we only observe left handed neutrinos and either the revelation that there is a hidden right-handed neutrino or that neutrinos are fully Majorana particles…

Paper and discussion history. The neutrino mass term could explain dark matter, dark energy and the matter-antimatter asymmetry https://arxiv.org/abs/1303.6912 whereas a Higgs Factory or top factory seems likely to be a big disappointment because all the evidence we have is that the Higgs field is as simple as it…

Paper and discussion history. It's at the point that it is a crisis in astronomy and not just an "improvement in knowledge". For a long time it has been a big mystery how the supermassive black holes formed at galactic centers, it is not clear at all how they got so big so fast. In recent observations it seems that many other processes happened much more quickly than we expected so either we're going to understand how things happened so fast or maybe what we think was the first…

Paper and discussion history. My argument is that the neutrino obviously has a mystery left in it because we don't know what the mass term looks like. It is not "physics beyond the standard model" but "a missing piece of the standard model". This nice paper makes the case that the right handed neutrino could wrap up the remaining mysteries in particle physics https://arxiv.org/abs/1303.6912

Paper and discussion history. We know neutrinos have a mass, we don't know how much. We don't know how to incorporate the neutrino mass into standard model. Other fermions come in left-handed and right-handed forms but we only see left-handed neutrinos. One idea is that right-handed neutrinos do exist but are highly elusive. In fact they are a good answer to the dark matter and other physics mysteries https://arxiv.org/abs/1303.6912v3

Paper and discussion history.
